First off, lets make one thing clear:  Bridgerack is in no shape or form the original creator of this optical illusion.  It is just one of those things that gets passed around the interweb without due credit.

Having established that, lets take a look at why this is so damn cool.  This illusion will tell you something about the very core of your psyche, which in turn says everything about the way your mind works.  It may surprise you, or it may just confirm what you've already known all along.

So what does this spinning girl say about your brain?  Take a look at her.  Which way is she spinning?  Clockwise or counter-clockwise?  Read what this means after the jump.

Alright, so if this hot little lady spins counter-clockwise in your world, you are more left-brain centric.  This means you take a logical approach to life, are detail oriented and can easily perceive order and patterns.  You are factually-minded, with a grounded, reality-based outlook on life.  Words and language, math and science are your strong suits, and you develop safe and practical strategies as a means to solving problems.

If the girl spins clockwise you are right-brain centric.  You are imaginative and base most of your decisions about how you feel.  With an eye firmly on the "bigger picture", imagination rules your world.  You draw meaning out of life, actions and objects with symbols and images as the main fuel for your thought processes.  When presented with problems, you present possibilities and easily take to flights of fancy with an open attitude to taking risks.

Basically if you're a clock-wiser, you're an artist; counter-clocker - - well, an accountant.  If you try really hard, you can trick your brain into seeing things the other way, even if for only a moment.  Still, regardless which side your brain swings, if you're male, chances are you noticed the nipples.  Some things are just true all across the lobes.

Very nice. I thought that it (the image) changed its direction... but after watching and thinking, the direction depends on my own inner state...

When I think about movies and remember different scenes... after 30 seconds or a minute, it goes clockwise.

When I think about numbers or read... after 30 seconds or a munute or 2 munutes, it goes counter-clockwise.

The image is totally black and it is not possible to state if we look at the front or the at the back of the image.

On the same silohuette it is possible to draw the back of the body or the front of the body. The whole image is going up and down instead of turning.

To our own senses, an object should show its back and its front, so we give it the property of a direction... according to the state of our own being... : )

Very interesting!

Does it happen the same with the facts? The facts might be the same, but we explain them according to our undestanding of that moment... and finally, we watch different facts... (materialism vs. idealism).

If I concentrate real hard, she'll turn the other way, but it makes me nauseous.

This accountant saw it both ways, including nipples...and even looked really hard for some evidence of bush.
